About Us
The school was established in 1964 as an outreach ministry of First Presbyterian Church Cartersville. It was created to provide an early childhood education program of the highest quality, founded upon both a firm commitment to God and a dedication to the highest professional standards. The school is open to all children without regard to race, creed, sex or national origin.

Mission Statement
First Presbyterian Preschool is dedicated to offering children a quality educational opportunity to learn to love, honor and glorify God through words, actions and relationships. Through developmentally appropriate activities, children are encouraged to explore and discover, with curiosity and creativity, the world a loving God has given them.

School Philosophy
We have created an environment in which each child can grow spiritually, emotionally and cognitively. We strive to develop capable children who work with other children and adults to solve problems together; to nurture caring children who learn to share themselves and their things with others; to celebrate contented children who enjoy learning; and to encourage loving children who are being loved, respected and challenged in a safe and secure environment. With these goals in mind, our school enables children to become people who respect others and value diversity, and who will be active, contributing members of their communities.

Classes Offered
We have classes for children from toddlers to 5-year-olds in pre-kindergarten with a variety of different schedules including:

Children are enrolled based on their age as of Sept. 1. Toddlers should be 18 months old by Sept. 1.

Schedule
Our daily hours are from 8:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Children may be dropped off as early as 7:30 a.m., where they will stay in the early room until 8:15 a.m. There will be an adult to assist children in and out of cars from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and from 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

Also
Extended session is an optional enrichment time offered on Monday-Friday from 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. for children in 3 or 4 year old classes. The cost is $10 per day and you may use any or all of these days.

Christian Education is an integral part of our curriculum.  Our emphasis focuses on God’s love for us through Bible stories, devotionals, music, movement, and art. 
                                                
Foreign Language, Science, and Music are scheduled separately on a weekly basis for all children.  In addition to our classroom activities, we meet together in the sanctuary weekly to sing praises and hear a brief story. They are also introduced to academic math and pre-reading skills in order to prepare them for kindergarten.
